It was a great delight to be part of the 41 African Studies Association of Australasia Pacific Conference at the University of Adelaide. The conference took place from the 23 – 24 of November 2017. It was exciting to give a presentation on Attachment and Quality of Life in African Diaspora in Australia. My argument was that attachment is an important psychological experience for most African migrants due to their experience of forced displacement, migration, implicit bias, and identity formation. Study data show that African diaspora’s attachment profiles were related to better quality of life. You can download the presentation material here.
