3 Reasons Why You Are Not Amazing

Backwardness is not of God. It is the work of darkness. The reason why you are not amazing is because you are in darkness. A nation that is in darkness will remain under- developed, represented  and managed. Mind you, darkness does not mean lack of intellect. You can be intelligent and knowledgeable and yet be in darkness. Darkness is rather an absence of insight. Insight brings about illumination which gives light. Light does not compete with darkness. Once you are rightly positioned to light darkness disappears. The closer you get to Light the more your brilliance shall be. The brightness of the moon is determined by its closeness the sun.

The Curse of Ignorance

Darkness primarily is an evidence of ignorance. Once you position yourself strategically to light, darkness will disappear. For when light shines in darkness, darkness cannot comprehend it. A lot of people are struggling to be amazing simply because they are not exposed to knowledge. Knowledge is power. Knowledge gives illumination. As a result of our inability to perceive the right information we are held bound to what we know. What you don’t know will kill you. People are inferior to others simply because of what they know. An ignorant man is kept in obscurity because he is not privileged to see what others saw, hear what others heard, know what others know and understand what others understood. As a Christian, if you lack experience, understanding and exposure you will bring God’s prophetic Word to your level. Whoever understands what you don’t see, hear, know and understand will control how you feel about yourself. The only thing holding you from being amazing and becoming the best you can be is because you have not seen, heard, known and understood how the world works (cf. Job 13:1-4). Ignorance is a disease. Knowledge is power. The children of Israelites were abused by the Philistines simply because they were ignorant of what the Philistines knew. In 1 Sam. 13:19-22, we were told the story of the Israelites and how it happened that in the whole of Israel, a nation of over one million people there was no blacksmith of Israeli descent. All the blacksmiths at that time were of Philistine origin. In fact this was part of the pact the nation of Israel and Philistine had before the defeat Goliath. Secondly, it happened that nobody in the whole of Israel had a real sword except for the King Saul and his son Jonathan. Imagine, out of a population of over one million people only two elites had swords. How would they fight their wars? The only reason why there was nobody to face Goliath was not because there was nobody capable to fight him in Israel but because there was nobody with a real sword, besides Saul and his son Jonathan. By the way, Goliath was just seven feet tall according to historians. There certainly would have been a match for him. But the men of Israel could not face the fear of Goliath’s real Iron sword to their wooden, artificial sword. Israel was in the thick of ignorance and never knew what the Philistines knew: that having an Israeli blacksmith could help them regain their freedom. The Israelites underestimated the power of a blacksmith, while the Philistines feared they might secretly manufacture swords for their kits and kinsmen overnight and take over their country. They stopped this smartly without the foreknowledge of Israel. Don’t forget Israel was in bondage for almost a decade as a result of their stack ignorance until God decided to use David to set them free. Remember they pursued the philistines when Goliath died, not with their swords because they had none, but with the armors and swords of the Philistines. Until you know what you need to know to fight your battles you may remain in that bottomless pit of poverty and abject lack. Ignorance is a state where you want to be like anything or anybody that swanks your way and suddenly you wake up from your catnap to realize you were living another man’s life all the while. I love Professor Socrates, “He who does not know and knows that he knows not is a fool. But he who knows and knows that he knows not, is wise…follow him.” You are amazing not by what you do but by how you do them.

The Guilt of Unrighteousness

The second reason why you are not amazing is simply because of your unrighteousness. Failure to adhere to moral principles could be a very deadly escapade. Nobody can outrun the all consuming power of nature. When nature fights you, you may not land safely. Rom. 1:18 reads “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth by their wickedness”. Notice the two things in the text: First, God releases his wrath against all unrighteous, which means your life is exposed to God’s wrath and devoid of His protection and provision. In other words, you’ve signed your soul to the devil. Secondly, unrighteousness suppress The Truth by their wickedness. What is “the truth”? The unstoppable Truth in this text is Jesus. Jesus is the Truth. He tells us this in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. There is no way outside of Christ. And since He is the same as the Father and works in us through the agency of the Holy Spirit, the truth we suppress is the Holy Spirit in us. When the Holy Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth (you need to know), and guide you out of your darkness into His light. He is the light of the world. Embracing light is embracing spiritual Truth that will set you free from any bondage. The bible admonishes us to “fasten on that belt of truth” – in other words, hold on to Christ first in our pursuit of happiness – make it your emblem. And as you fasten on the belt of Truth, secondly God tells us to “put on the breastplate of righteousness” (Eph. 6:14). What this means is that, first, there is no success outside of character and virtue. Secondly, you don’t automatically succeed simply because you’ve known The Truth (Christ) but you succeed by virtue of your dominion over unrighteousness. Thirdly, it means that a righteous man is a successful man. The illusion here is to assume that success has to do with the material world. No…true success is transformational. This by implication could mean that success is not all about money but about discipline and character leadership. You need God to succeed. An attempt on God is an attempt on success. Leaders therefore must endeavor to lead in character. We are not called to lead but to lead in godliness and dispensing the virtues of God’s kingdom. Lead in character and succeed!

The Clamps of Principalities & Powers

The third force that is fighting against your amazingness is the rulers of darkness. You can effectively conquer this darkness when you are light in Christ Jesus. Christ is light and so are His followers. Once you are consciously working towards sanctification of the heart and purged of your desire for sin, the powers of darkness have no say over your life. You have the responsibility, not God, to draw the line here. They come through dreams, familiar spirits, marine demons, ancestral demons, spiritual wife and children to torment your life and burry you at the abyss of nothingness. I kid you not, it is no myth. Things happen. For some of us, the reason why we are not amazing like our peers is simply because there is an unseen power dragging us down and scheming evil every second to bring us to nothing. A lot of people that struggle to make it in the marketplace today and yet nothing to account for their sweat are more hardworking than those who are successful at what they do. The bible says success does not come to him that runs faster but is of the Lord that shows mercy. Scripture says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We can only escape this death trap by running to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith and take up the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (cf. Eph. 6:11-13). We serve a God that is far above principalities and powers and the rulers of darkness. As people that share the same bloodline with Christ, we share His Spirit of power and might. Our position has been elevated to a level that is far superior to the angels at the time of our salvation (cf. Heb. 1:13-14, Eph. 2: 6-7). These verses give us wonderful insight to living the Christian life. We live like who we are: co-heirs with Christ raised and seated with the Lord Jesus in Heaven. Imagine “all ministering angels are sent to serve those who inherit salvation” (Heb. 1:14). Wait…Think about it for one second… If angels that are meant to serve us can fight demons hands down how much more us that have the Spirit of God in us and are co-heirs with Christ? Bind and destroy that demon of near-success, poverty and lack in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and they will flee from you.

Embrace Knowledge. Be counted for Christ. Be in-charge. Be amazing!
